Forgiveness

It is difficult to forgive but people have to if they are to move on with life. To forgive means to forget about the pain that others have caused on you. People forgive so that they don’t hold a grudge on others as being bitter slows your progress and makes you feel miserable. This is because your thinking revolves around what to do to revenge your enemies and not what to do to improve yourself. In my fourth grade, I remember holding a grudge on one of my classmates for refusing to lend me her pencil. I vowed never to give her anything but you know what? For quiet sometime, she never asked for anything from me even though, I new inside my heart that I had forgiven her, as God requires from all who believe in him.

However, it is not only difficult to the person who’s supposed to forgive but it is as well not easy to the person being forgiven and this is because the forgiver is often doubted. People always sing about forgiving others, though, as human beings we forgive but we do not easily forget. No human forgiveness can be compared to God’s forgiveness as the Bible says, “God’s forgiveness is like the east is from the west.
