It is 3pm in Richards court on the street of Little Mowbray. Waking up from my cool afternoon nap, I get to the bathroom to refresh myself, out of the bathroom onto the window facing Little Mowbray street with my mind captivated with thoughts of how I will be a money maker during the 2010 soccer world cup. How impatiently I have been waiting for this occasion to come.
Still on my window overlooking an edge of Table Mountain, I look up to clear my mind, my eyes capture two teenage boys probably aged 13 wearing baggy jeans, graffiti designed T-shirts, sneakers and one of them putting on a pair of sunglasses(Chris Brown’s look alike), come out of the opposite building.
Down the road a middle aged looking woman with a little girl probably her daughter enthusiastically gets out of the parked Nissan besides the road. A little bit agitated by the two boys who suddenly appear and seem to be begging for money. The woman quickly grabs the little girl and seems to say no in an unfriendly manner while she tries to cross the road. As she takes caution by looking right and left before crossing, she takes a step forward, still agitated to her shock the boys unbelievably become gangsters and in a flip second her neck less, wristwatch and handbag are gone. The woman is left still holding on to the girl, trembling with fear and with no words to come out of her mouth.
Thinking the boys will run back to the building which they came out of earlier, I watch carefully but they proceed down the road, into the wind they disappear.
Trying to get back to my thoughts, my eyes inevitably catch the entrance of the opposite building, the building that the two boys came out of and it apparently reads "To Let".
